With the development of society, the connotation of English translation is enriched. Meanwhile, translation competence researchers focus on English translation teaching. For English teachers, it is necessary to explore effective translation teaching strategies to ensure that the talents trained meet the needs of social development, and to deepen the study of translation competence so as to promote the sustainable development of the translation industry. This paper briefly introduces the current situation of translation competence research, then summarizes the common problems in translation teaching, and finally probes into effective translation teaching strategies.
