A Brief Analysis of Language Vacancies in English-Chinese Translation of Legal Materials

本文首先阐释了法律资料英汉互译中语言空缺的具体概念,并通过绝对空缺、相对空缺两种情况论述了语言空缺现象的类别。进而基于此,分别从不译、生造、意译三方面,提出了有效的翻译策略。以期能够有效解决法律术语空缺问题,提高译文的准确性。

This paper first expounds the specific concepts of language vacancy in the translation of legal materials between English and Chinese,and then discusses the categories of language vacancy through absolute vacancy and relative vacancy.Based on this,effective translation strategies are put forward from three aspects:untranslation,creation and free translation.In order to effectively solve the problem of legal terminology vacancy and improve the accuracy of translation.
