比较了近代东西方的级数论工作,认为中算与和算没有西算那种区别于科学的特性,所以无穷的概念在东西方的进化方式不同.西算家虽由直观所引导却不为直观所支配,而中算家与和算家既由直观所引导且为直观所支配.由于进步地说明了更多的东西,近代级数论取代了清代级数论.

Eastern and western series in Qingtimes is comparatively studied and the opinions are that the eastern traditional mathematics,different from westerns,are lack of the characteristic that distinguish from science,so the eastern and the western conception of infinite made different progress.The western conception of infinite was guided but not subject to the direct perception,while the eastern conception of infinite was not only guided but also subject to the direct perception.Because more results could be further explained,Qingtimes series were replaced by modern series.
