17.8%IncreaseinExportsofGermanytoChinainFebruaryAccordingtostatisticsreleasedbyFederalStatisticalOfficeofGermany,inFebruary,exportsofGermanytoChinaincreasedbyabout20%comparedwiththesameperiodoflastyear,butGermany’stradedeficittoChinastillexisted.TheStatisticalOfficeindicatedthatGermany’sexportstoChinainFebruarywereupby17.8%toEUR1.5billion,andthegrowthinimportswasupby21.3%toEUR2.2billion.AsthebiggesttradingpartnerofChinainEurope,GermanywaseagertodeveloptherelationshipwithChina,whichwasviewedasthemostactiveeconomiccommunityworldwide,soastocompensatethelackofdomesticdemand.In2003,exportsofGermanytoChinawereupby24.9%toEUR18.2billion,ofwhichexportsofmachineryandequipmentincreasedby30%.AndimportsofGermanyfromChinawereupby17.3%toEUR25billion,importsofelectronicproductslikeTVwereonanobviousrise.
