Channel access protocol is one of the most important research areas of Ad hoc network. Currently,the research on it focuses on three fields:contention protocols,allocation protocols and hybrid protocols. In this paper,some typical protocols of every field are introduced,their respective advantages and disadvantages are analysed and a possible dual channel access protocol is presented based on synchronous communication model.
