本文以翔实的资料叙述了早期美国建筑教育的情况,特别是对中国建筑教育有极大影响的美国费城宾夕法尼亚大学的建筑教育情况,并仔细搜集了早期留美中国建筑学专业留学生的情况,根据宾夕法尼亚大学的有关档案,列出了1937年之前的全部中国建筑留学生的名单,对于了解中国建筑教育所由承续的宾夕法尼亚大学的建筑教育情况,及早期中国建筑留学生的情况作一个比较系统的记录与描述。

With the detailed and firsthand information,the paper concerns the situation on the early Chinese Architecture students in United States from 1920*s to 1930's.Among them,the most famous are late Professors Yang Tingbao and Liang Sicheng.Focused discussion is also given on the history of Architecture Education System during the end of 19th Century and the first several decades of 20th Century in the United States,especially in the most influential Institute,the School of Fine Arts and University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.It will be helpful in understanding the history and system of modem Chinese Architecture Education.
