Unscrambling Imperial Ming Palace in Nanjing from an Angle of Ceremonials

明太祖奉行'以礼法治天下',并将这一原则贯彻至建筑、衣冠、器具、行为等各个领域,从而使中国古代的'礼治'传统在这个时期达到一个高峰,并为其后五百余年的统治拉开序幕。本文将明洪武时期(1368-1398年)以宫殿为主要场所的国家礼仪作为个案展开分析,尝试揭示仪式过程中所体现的空间结构,及其与社会秩序间的关联。并进一步指出空间秩序构建中,以建筑场景为依托的人与物的排布所起的重要作用,从而加深关于中国古代社会中建筑、空间营造与礼仪、社会之间关系的理解。

By analyzing national ceremonials taking place in palaces during Hongwu Period(1368—1398)in Ming Dynasty,this paper tries to describe a space structure indicated by the process of ceremonials.It also reveals the relationship between space structure and social system.Furthermore,this paper points out the critical role of the configuration of people and objects in constructing this structure.Thus the inter-relationship between architectures,spaces,ceremonials and social system in imperial China could be better interpreted.
