Study on Yu Yue's Gardening Thought

清末朴学大师俞樾,寓居苏州时,利用屋旁的余地筑成曲园。俞樾营造的曲园,朴拙无华,布局规则,但是园主曲意深远,追求'曲则全''曲而达'的生命境界。曲园以'春在'为主旨,园林中春意盎然,充盈着生机活力,展示出园主的生命理想。俞樾以'乐天知命'的生命态度,不以小园为陋,经营着人、园圆融共生的生活环境。

Yu Yue was a famous master of phi-lology in the late Qing Dynasty.During his living in Suzhou,he made use of the rest of land and created a beautiful garden,Qu Yuan.Qu Yuan is a small austere garden,whose layout is tortu ous.Yu Yue not only pay attention to the form of Qu Yuan,but also the intention of the garden.Through managing Qu Yuan,Yu Yue showed his pursuit for the Taoism realm life of Mlack is full"and Mcrooked is straight".At the same time,he thought the uspring has always been"as the theme of Qu Yuan,so the garden is filled with vi-tality,showing his Confucian idea life.Through managing the art form of Qu Yuan,Yu Yue cre-ated a world life state.Yu Yue thought one should be content with what one is and so he didn't care about his small and poor garden.He was committed to creating a living environment which human and nature can coexist in harmo-ny.
