近代天津外籍建筑师述录(1860-1940)

A Study of Foreign Architects in Modern Tianjin,1860-1940

本文以天津为研究地域范围,致力于对近代曾在天津活动的外籍建筑师群体进行一个基础资料考证整理,试图摸清这一群体在近代天津的发展概况。近代在天津从事建筑活动的外籍建筑师来自英国、德国、法国、意大利、奥地利、比利时、丹麦、美国、日本、俄国、荷兰、瑞士等12个国家,共103位。本文依其工作性质及在天津出现的时间顺序,结合其生平及在津期间设计活动资料,连缀成篇,为中国近代建筑史和近代中外文化交流史的深入研究提供基础。

Based on historical resources,this paper aims to explore the foreign architects who worked in modern Tianjin(Tientsin).Focusing on textual research,it attempts to identify the general situation of this group.There were 103 foreign architects working in modern Tianjin,who came from Britain,Germany,France,Italy,Austriia,Belgium,Denmark,the USA Japan,Russia,Switzerland,and the Netherlands.Based on a chronological order,this paper surveys those their careers and activities in Tianjin,setting up the foundation for further study on modem Chinese architectural history and the mod-ern history of cultural communication between China and other countries.
