The type of zincnickel alloy plating solutions and their advantages as well as disadvantages were introduced. The main composiiton and arts of zincnickel alloy plating in alkaline baths were emphatically described. The species of brighteners and complexing agents were collected in detail and their functions were evaluated. The mechanism of brightening and codeposition of zinc with nickel for zincnickel alloy electrodeposition in abovementioned baths was briefly discussed. 
