关于伦敦离岸人民币业务发展的思考

On Development of London Offshore Renminbi Business

2009年跨境人民币业务试点开展以来,截至2015底人民币稳居全球第五大支付货币,占全球支付货币份额的2.31%,紧随日元之后(2.78%)。人民币国际化的快速推进离不开境外离岸人民币市场的支持。伦敦作为全球主要金融中心,因其金融机构林立,产品齐全、服务专业,加之外汇交易发达、时区优势明显,已成为亚洲以外最重要的离岸人民币市场之一,也是离岸人民币业务的"西方枢纽"。但是,伦敦金融城也面临对人民币相关政策不熟悉、人民币流动性不足等挑战。本文简要回顾了伦敦人民币离岸业务的背景和发展现状,对当前面临的主要问题作了分析,并提出相关建议。

Since the pilot program of cross-border RMB business in 2009,RMB has ranked as the fifth currency of payment with a proportion of 2.31%in the global transactions,following closely after yen with a proportion of 2.78%.The smooth RMB internalization partly own success to the abroad offshore RMB market.London is one of the world's major financial centres,renowned for professional financial service and full-range of financial products.With its significant advantage in foreign exchange transaction and time zone,London has grown into one of the major offshore yuan market beyond Asia,as well as a hub of offshore RMB bussness in the west.However,the City of London faces the challenges i.e.lack of knowledge of related cross- border RMB policies and shortage of liquidity of offshore yuan.The paper reviews the background and present situation of London offshore RMB Business,analyses the main challenges and offers some suggestions.
