Research on the Relationship between Scientific and Technological Innovation and Economic Growth

摘要 本文以2001-2016年中国29个省份(市、自治区)的面板数据为基础,利用面板回归分析,研究科技创新对我国经济的影响。回归结果表明,科技创新的弹性系数为0.132,表明科技创新每提高1%,国内生产总值会提高0.132%。根据结果我们得出科技创新对经济发展有显著影响,对经济发展有明显的促进作用。另外控制变量,资本存量、人力资本的回归系数分别为0.727、0.215,这一研究结果表明要素投入仍然是我国目前的刺激经济增长的主要方式。但是我们不应忽视科技创新的重要性。变系数回归结果显示绝大多数省份通过了显著性检验,各省份中科技创新对经济增长均是正向促进作用,但对经济的促进程度有所不同,总体表现为东部地区最高,西部地区次之,中部地区最低。 Based on the panel data of 29 provinces(cities and autonomous regions) in China from 2001 to 2016, this paper USES panel regression analysis to study the impact of scientific and technological innovation on China’s economy.The regression results showed that the elastic coefficient of scientific and technological innovation was 0. 132, indicating that for every 1% increase of scientific and technological innovation, the GDP would increase by 0. 132%. Based on the results, we conclude that scientific and technological innovation has a significant impact on economic development and has a significant promoting effect on economic development. In addition, the regression coefficients of capital stock and human capital are 0. 727 and 0. 215, respectively. This research result shows that factor input is still the main way to stimulate economic growth in China. But we should not lose sight of the importance of technological innovation. The results of variable coefficient regression show that most of the provinces have passed the significance test. In each province, scientific and technological innovation is a positive promoting effect on economic growth, but the promoting degree is different, In general, the eastern region is the highest, followed by the western region, and the central region is the lowest.
