The Euro Crisis: Ten Roots, But Fewer Solutions

由欧洲主权债务危机引致的欧元危机,历经劫波,渐寻得危机诸因并致力解决,各国政府内部艰难施行财政整顿、预算约束,外部寄望于经济复苏。但最为紧迫的,是南欧国家的经济沉疴难愈,此需各国携手相助,着手推行新的体制机制,维持欧元地位,维护共同利益。

Solutions have been provided by governments to resolve the euro crisis that is caused by the sovereign debt crisis. Such solutions include fiscal consolidation and harsher austerity measures. However, the most pressing problem, which also constitutes the most serious threat to the integrity of the euro area, is the dreary economic outlook in southern euro-area member states. The common interest lies in preserving the integrity of the euro area and in offering these countries improved prospects by other euro-area partners. In the medium term, additional institutional changes will be necessary to complement the planned overhaul of the euro area institutional framework.
