In many advanced economies, short-term interest rates have reached virtually zero, and the expansion of central banks’liquidity and balance sheets is unprecedented. In addition, they also enlarged the asset-purchase program to include more asset classes. Even so, the economic recovery remains far from satisfactory. As such, requirements and expectations on central bank policies are higher than ever before.
