The fscal accounts of many advanced countries are in a weak state,with the ratio of public debt to GDP at a historically high level.This in turn is leading to increased risk.The advanced economies need fscal adjustment and structural reforms to raise their growth rates.At the same time,they need to keep interest rates under control to maintain public confdence.
