An Incomplete Prescription:Lessons Learnt from the “Latin America Trap”

拉美国家在20 世纪中期取得了飞速的发展,成为世界银行评价体系中的"中等"收入国家。但经过80 年代的国际经济金融动荡冲击过后,拉美国家一直没有找到合理的可持续的增长动力,经济发展进入停滞徘徊期,而这一切的根源都指向了彼时拉美各国政府无视本国实际情况,而盲目地使用了一张没有开全的药方。

In the mid-20th century, Latin American countries recorded rapid development and joined the ranks of middle-income countries as defined by the World Bank. However, since the international economic and financial turmoil of the 1980’s, Latin American countries have not found a reasonable and sustainable growth engine and their economies have stagnated over a long period. The root cause of this is their governments ignored national conditions and blindly used an incomplete prescription for development.
