After undergoing rapid expansion over a prolonged period, China's large commercial banks are facing some serious challenges. It is now imperative that they address these challenges by deepening their reform efforts. In accordance with the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 18 th Central Committee of the Communist Party, the Bank of Communications has presented its reform proposals, and these may be a useful guide to further reform.
