The recent monetary policies of the developed economies have become increasingly different in direction. While the US Federal Reserve is considering adjusting the interest rate to the normal level, central banks in Japan and Europe are continuing to buy large amounts of assets. This paper discusses the similarities and differences between the easing monetary policies of central banks in Japan and Europe, as well as the expected inflation rates in Japan and the Eurozone.
