《特里斯坦与伊索尔德》是中世纪以来流传在欧洲的一个动人的爱情故事。托马斯·曼的《特里斯坦》和赵玫的《寻找伊索尔德》间接演绎了这个故事。在寻找失落的"美"和至死不渝的"爱"上,《特里斯坦》和《寻找伊索尔德》存在一种互文关系,两部小说实质上对史诗中的两个主人公的存在作了否定。《特里斯坦》在沿用古典叙事手法的基础上,在环境设置与人物的心理以及情节的铺陈之间的和谐方面,在以英雄特里斯坦的缺失作为作品内在的叙事线索和叙事中心方面富有特色。赵玫则在沿袭托马斯·曼反讽叙事的基础上,对传统小说叙事手法进行了颠覆。

'Tristan and Isolde'is a touching love story spread in Europe since the Middle Ages,which is indirectly interpreted in Thomas Mann's Tristan and Zhao Mei's Looking for Isolde. On the respect of seeking the lost'beauty'and eternal'love',Tristan and Looking for Isolde are closely related to each other,and both novels deny the existence of the two protagonists in the epic. Tristan,on the basis of the classical narrative technique,is full of its own characteristics on such aspects as environment settings,mentality of characters,plot development,and taking the lack of the hero—Tristan as the inner narrative clue and center. Though Zhao Mei follows Thomas Mann's ironic narration,she subverts the traditional narrative technique of novels.
