新媒体作为继报刊、广播、电视等传统媒体之后迅速发展起来的新的媒体形态,以其即时性、全域性、交互性、平等性、易检性和多媒性等特点以及丰富多彩的内容形式,极大地适应了当代大学生个性需求和沟通需求,迅速占领了大学生的日常学习和生活领域,成为大学生认识社会、开阔眼界、促进自身成长的重要途径,对大学生思想政治教育产生了不可忽视的重要影响。充分认识新媒体条件下大学生思想政治教育的机遇挑战,利用新媒体做好大学生思想政治教育工作,已成为摆在高校意识形态工作中亟须解决的重要问题,这直接关系到大学生健康成长和高校思想政治教育工作的成效。

The new media,as the rapidly developed new media form after the newspaper,radio,television and other traditional media,greatly fits into contemporary college students' needs of personality and communication,quickly occupies the field of their daily learning life,becomes an important way for them to know the society,broaden their horizons and promote their own growth,and further exerts a great influence on college students' ideological and political education,with its characteristics of immediacy,universality,interactivity,equality,detectability and multimedia as well as abundant and colorful contents. Fully understanding the opportunities and challenges of college ideological and political education under the condition of new media and doing this work well via new media has become an important issue to be urgently resolved in college ideological work,which directly relates to the healthy growth of college students and the effectiveness of college ideological and political education.
