远程计算机网络的实验研究

EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON REMOTE COMPUTER NETWORK

本文阐述了作者以HONEYWELL DPS6、DPS8为研究对象所进行的远程计算机网络的实验研究。虽然HONEYWELL公司的网络软件自称是等价ISO开放式互连系统(OSI)的参考模型,然而它并没有提供全套的网络软件。在现有的系统中,哪些与网络有关,哪些可用,哪些需开发,要实现远程需考虑哪些问题,根据哪些步骤,如何操作,如何使用市话线实现数据通信,有关这些问题需我们研究与分析解剖,而最重要的是反复实验。在跨越二十七公里的市内电话专线上,作者成功地实现了DPS 6 ＆DPS 8的分布式网络和中大型机DPS 8的主机-主机通信。

The experimental research on remote computer network based on Honeywell DPS 6 and DPS 8 is presented. Although Honeywell claims that its network architecture is equivalent to the ISO's Reference Model of Open System Interconnection, however, it hasn't provided all the network softwares. No one knows which of the softwares already loaded in the system are available for network. In order to realize remote communications, we need to study, analyze and dissect what the important factors to be considered are, what the steps for operaters are and if the telephone lines of Shanghai can work for data communication. The most importment of all is to repeat a practical experiment a lot of times. We have succeeded in establishing distributed network of DPS 6 & DPS 8, and point-to-point communication of DPS 8, along a dedicated telephone lines with a distance as far as 27 kilometers.
