Assessments of college education play an important role in improving the quality of education and promoting the reform of teaching. This paper brietly expounds the historical development. Several fundamental concepts and the characteristics of educational assessment. In addition, the types, scheme design and some steps of educational assessment are further discussed. A target system of teaching level assessment is introduced also. All of these would contribute to a better understanding and participating in current educational assessment for teachers.
