摘要 Benstonite is a rare carbonate mineral. It was first found in the barite mine of Hot Spring County, Arkansas, U. S. A., in barite veins together with quartz, barite, and calcite, showing distinct rhombohedral cleavage. This mineral was discovered by the author in 1972, while collecting specimens of carbonate minerals in Northwest China, and a preliminary study of it has since been made in recent years.
