The district designated in this paper as 'the west side of Weishan Lake' geologically is the area extending north to Yutai (鱼台) and Shanxian (单县) Counties in Shandong Province, south to Xuzhou (徐州) in Jiangsu Province and southwest to the border of Anhui Province.
