In the summer of 1979, the authors discovered from the core of Well No.1 in Shunyi (顺义) County, Beijing, China, at a depth of 182—327 m, more than 40 glass globules with diameters of 0.17—0.65 mm. According to their stratigraphic ages, occurrences, forms, physical properties and main chemical components, we consider that they are microtektites.
