The Batura Glaeier lies on the northern slope of the Hunza Karakoram, northwest of the Karakoram Mountain System. It is a huge longitudinal valley glacier, with a length of 59.2 km and covering a total area of 285 km^2. The Karakoram Highway, built jointly by the People’s Republic of China and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, passes not far away below the terminus of this glacier at the mileage between 115 and 119 km on the right bank of the Hunza River.
