It is well known that in the brain there are at least two types of receptors for the opinoid peptides, namely, the μ-receptor for binding morphine, naloxone or naltrexone; and the σ-receptor for binding enkephalins. The pharmacological models, the guinea pig ileum (GPI) and mouse vas defereus (MVD), have been used respectively for their identifications.
