Ⅰ. INTRODUCTIONIn some areas, there may be found a series of anticlines and synclines arranged in an oblique pattern, the so called en echelon folds. This structural pattern is closely related to the distribution and enrichment of the sedimentary and endogenetic ore deposits as well as oil and ground water resources. In order to investigate its driving mechanism, we considered it as the buckling phenomenon of a thin plate. Its elastic analysis has already been presented by Huang Qinghua.
