摘要
The law of plate motion is instrumental to the understanding of driving mechanism of lithospherie plates, a problem which has long occupied the attention of the geophysicists. In [1] and [2], attempts were made to statistically correlate the plate speed with total plate area, area of continental part of plate, effective length of ocean ridge, trench length and transform length respectively, but none of these succeeded in yielding a meaningful result.
