For 14C dating, in order to put all the 14C dates of different laboratories on a common basis and make the 14C dates more accurate and reliable, it is necessary to set up a common modern reference. In 1975, we were charged at the National Conference of Isotopic Geology, Guiyang, to establish a common reference in China.
