Culture of unpollinated ovaries and ovules is a new field in plant tissue culture. As we know, so far only in 8 species, haploid plantlets have been induced by this method. Recently, sunflower haploid embryoids and plantlets have been produced from cultured young florets and ovules in our laboratory. The main results are as follows.
