THE VIBRATIONAL RELAXATION AND ELECTRONIC QUENCHING OF BaO (A^1∑) IN Ar AND N_2

The chemiluminescent spectra from the reaction of Ba+N2O in Ar and N2 were obtained from the HPOR experiment. The rotational perturbation of A1∑, V′=1 was observed. The vibrational relaxation rate of BaO* A1∑ V′=1 and the electronic quenching rate of BaO* A1∑, V′=0 in Ar have been obtained as 2.8×10-11cm3·
