Recently, the extraordinary structures and physiological activities of silatrane compounds have been paid much attention to and been studied with various physicoehemical methods by many authors. The concept of pentacoordinated silicon and tetracoordinated nitrogen in these compounds has been proposed. However, there is still much controversy about it.
