摘要
It has been indicated that the 1982—83 El Nio event was the strongest in this century. Investigations show that significant anomalies of climate are observed from the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean when the El Nio event happens. Meanwhile, the subtropical high in the west Pacific and the cool summer in China have close correlation with the SST (sea surface temperature) in the equatorial east Pacific. Therefore, studies on El Nio events will benefit the long-range weather forecasting.
