EFFECT OF Mg^(2+) ON THE RECONSTITUTION OF PORCINE KIDNEY MEDULL A Na, K-ATPase IN SOYBEAN PHOSPHOLIPID LIPOSOMES

摘要 In recent years the reconstitution technique has been widely used in the study on the structure and function of membrane proteins and its interaction with lipids. We have reported that during the reconstitution of porcine heart mitochondrial H+ ATPase or cytochrome oxidase in soybean phospholipid liposomes by the cholate dialysis method, Mg2+ or some other divalent cations greatly enhances the reconstituted enzyme activity. In the present paper the effect of Mg2+ on the reconstitution of porcine kidney medulla Na, K-ATPase has been preliminarily studied.
