摘要 The Migdal-Kadanoff (MK) renormalization transformation has been adopted to discuss the phase transition structures of lattice gauge theories (LGT). But it is problematic to apply it to analysing the phase behavior of LGT with the action being a linear combination of fundamental and adjoint representations. For U(1) theory, i.e. compact QED, we consider the single plaquette action:
