The Chaugxing Stage is the youngest unit of the Permian System. It is characterized by the Palaeofusulina zone in it as is recently identified by Sheng and Rui. ’It may be subdivided into two subzones: The Gallowayinella meitienensis and the Palaeofusulina sinensis subzones from lower to upper.
