从标志性到城市性——城市整体性向度中的标志性建筑

FROM ICONICITY TO URBANITY: RETHINKING ICONIC BUILDINGS IN URBAN DIMENSION

本文从城市设计的角度,讨论了导致当代城市空间环境整体性丧失和标志性建筑失范的社会、经济、文化因素,指出城市设计作为一种城市要素整合与公共空间营造的手段,应当为城市建筑的决策制订一种基于城市整体性的规范,从而让标志性建筑以一种更为积极的姿态去回应城市空间环境整体性的要求,发挥其对于城市整体性建构的结构性作用,而对城市风貌的过度关注,亦会弱化城市设计作为一种整合与公共空间塑造机制的作用,从而使之面临失效的危险。

From the perspective of urban design, the article discusses the social, economical and cultural complications of contemporary urban development, which results in dis-integrity of built environment and anomy of iconic buildings. It is pointed out that urban design, as a method of integrating diverse urban elements and public space making, should prescribe a norm for architecture so that iconic buildings can adequately respond to the needs of integration and play a structuring role. It is also held that the excessive concern with urban scape will impede and even invalidate the function of urban as design as a mechanism of integration and public space making.
