The stock lands in traditional heavy industrial areas of low-urbanized outskirts are facing new opportunities, determined by the current situations of highly-urbanized first-tier cities in China. This is historically inevitable. The industrial heritages of first-tier cities in China will surely join the urbanization with a more active 'dynamic regeneration', which is unlike the common 'static protection' of industrial heritage parks in Europe. This is the historical summon. The transitional development of Beijing Shougang is the most characteristic case of heavy industrial heritage regeneration in China today. This article restores the design clues for this 'new landmark of urban revitalization' through analyses of 'Shougang Xishi Winter Olympic Plaza', the first completed project in Shougang Park.
