Having experiencing the development driven by investments and increments, the cities in China have entered into the development stages with transformation as direction and inventory spatial recourses as carriers. A high-quality development requires high-quality spaces. And the quality improvement of urban built-up areas has become an important issue in the urban construction nowadays. The life circle construction in built-up areas is a process of reconstructing urban service systems and support systems with human needs as core and human behavior patterns as research methods. This paper takes Dashangdi area in Beijing as an example to analyze and interpret the practices and reflection on life circle construction in the built-up areas. Starting from the existing concerns in built-up areas, and taking the features of various bodies, approaches, tasks and systems into account, the reconstruction of spaces, recombination of behaviors and re-shaping of life circles could be realized through multiple means such as system darning, open sharing, efficient operation and fine allocation.
