China’s urbanization has both the universality and the particularity of the process of urbanization in the world.Therefore,the study of smart cities in the field of urban planning is very important.The research includes understanding of generalized smart cities,conceptual models of smart city research,and preparation of research methods for multidisciplinary collaboration.This paper discusses the origin and significance of smart cities and the development of domestic smart cities.It mainly analyzes the important influence of smart city concept on future urban development from urban management,urban infrastructure construction,Internet of things technology and industrial development,and intelligent life.
