《中国建筑史论汇刊》由清华大学建筑学院主办,以荟萃发表国内外中国建筑史研究论文为主旨。本辑收录论文15篇,分为建筑史学史研究、东亚建筑专题、佛教建筑研究、古代建筑制度研究和古代园林研究五个栏目。其中《回顾与展望——日本建筑史学的发展》和《中国建筑史研究概说及近5年中国建筑史研究简况》、《7—12世纪日本建筑的研究方法论的现状及课题》、《建筑文化传播与交流的研究现状与课题——以中国少数民族地区为例》和《从年代记走向历史著述——日本宫殿、住宅史研究的现状与课题》分别对中日两国建筑史研究的整体现状、研究方法以及建筑的传播和交流等方面进行了细致的研究。
