Decoding History and Information of Modern Building Bricks in Northeast China

以近代东北地区建筑用砖为研究对象,采用实测数据与文献相互佐证的方法,对砖的规格、质地、砌法进行解码,归纳出不同类型砖的差异。转译差异背后隐藏的度量衡、制砖技术的引进与传播等历史信息,建立砖的识别体系,为判别建筑历史身份提供依据。

This paper takes the modern building brick in Northeast China as the research object. A mutual corroboration between measured data and literature review was conducted to examine the specification, texture, and masonry mode of the bricks. The differences among the diverse types of bricks were explored. The hidden information behind the different bricks such as the system of measurement, introduction and dissemination of brick making technology and historical aspects were translated to establish the identification system of bricks. The result could provide evidence to distinguish the historical identity of the buildings.
