?Through clarifying and analyzing the schema theory and reflecting on the problems existing in present English teaching, the paper puts forward some suggestions intending to improve the listeningteaching. Teachers should help students have the idea of schema. Staff in language labs should assist students with schema. Teachers should manage to stimulate schema in students' mind. And it specifies the significance of schema in English listeningteaching: Schema will contribute to students' reasoning, understanding and memorizing abilities. I think English teachers should get rid of the old traditional teaching methods and apply schema theory into the listeningteaching in English perfectly through their continuous research and exploration.
