This paper makes a deep research on channel estimation and equalization technique in WLAN system. For the purpose of easy implementation, it summarizes the channel estimation and equalization algorithms suitable for IEEE 802.11(a) standard through lots of Matlab simulation and analysis. Also, it points out the advantages, disadvantages and the application fields of the algorithms, which is beneficial to the hardware realization of the channel estimation and equalization part in WLAN system.
