A RT PCR method for detecting vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) was established on condition that a pair of primers was designed according to the sequence of nucleoprotein gene of VSV to detect VSV strains and Bovine viral Diarrhea Virus(BVDV)? Bluetongue(BTV), the results of detecting VSV were all positive, while the results of detecting BVDV and BTV viruses were all negative. The results revealed that the RT PCR technique can be applied to diagnose and epidemiologically investigate vesicular stomatitis.
