Education Market in China to Grow Fast in Coming Years

2002年12月28日,作为中国第一部规范和促进民办教育发展的法律文件《民办教育促进法》,历经4年的起草、审议终于正式出台。促进法的出台,为中国民办教育插上了腾飞的翅膀,成为中国教育市场发展的转折点。国家统计局显示,目前中国居民的教育费用支出每年约2500亿元。

China has become a country with the largest education scale the world and education is now viewed as a new 'hot spot' for investment in the 21st century. According to the Ministry of Education, the number of educational institutions of different levels has reached 1.35 million in China with a total enrollment of 320 million. The Chinese government's program for higher education envisions an increase of enrollment from the current 10 million to 17 million by 2010. Anew market will be created to cater to the needs of such a large group of special consumers.
