湖笔文化的发展以湖笔的发展为基础,湖笔是与其它形式的书写工具、其它地方的毛笔相竞争而发展起来的,但是在现代高科技飞速发展的条件下,湖笔在传统的领域里面临着巨大的挑战。为了使湖笔文化不断地向前发展、繁荣下去,湖笔文化除了在湖笔制作上要不断推陈出新之外,还要开拓新的领域,成为人们强身健体、陶冶性情的一种体育活动,成为社区社会主义精神文明建设的一种形式。

The development of the Huzhou writing brush culture is based on the development of the Huzhou writing brush. Trie Huzhou writing brush came into being with other writing instruments and writing brushes of other places, but under the present circumstances of rapid development of high technology, the traditional function of the Huzhou writing brush is being challenged.
