Dostoevsky was an epilepsy patient, who lived in Russia in the later part of the nineteenth century which was characterized by turbulence. There was a tacit agreement between the characteristics of the time and Dostoevsky's epilepsy, which made him, compared with other contemporary writers, better at expressing people's schizophrenia and confusion, and revealing thepreposterousness of their living state. And the tacit agreement also created a kind of polyphonic phenomenon in his novels.
