Urbanization: New Approach to the Sustainable Development of Rural Economy

实现我国农村可持续发展的根本出路是加快城市化步伐。城市化能减轻人口对资源的压力 ;能实现乡镇企业在空间上的集中 ,实现对农村环境的保护 ;能实现对农村潜在市场的开拓 ,消除城乡二元经济结构 ,释放农村可持续发展的潜能 ;有利于计划生育国策的贯彻和我国劳动者素质的提高 ;有利于实现土地的适度规模经营 ,并加快农村科技进步与推广。加速城市化的进程 ,首先要提高认识 ,其次要选择发展战略 。

The fundamental solution to the sustainable development in the countryside of China is to speed up urbanization. By means of urbanization, the pressure from population over resources can be reduced, the township enterprises can be spatially grouped together for the environmental protection and the potential rural market can be tapped to eliminate the dual economic structure and release the potentiality of sustainably developing rural economy. In addition, urbanization is beneficial to the implementation of the family planning policies, the cultivation of the labourers ' qualities, the moderately size operation of land and the advancement and popularization of sci tech in the countryside. In order to accelerate the urbanization process, the level of understanding must be raised, the development strategy decided upon and the system innovation carried out.
